465 CABARRUS COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES CONTRACT This contract made by and between Gabarrus County, hereinafter referred to as the "County", by and through its Department of Social Services, and "Meals on Wheels, Inc.", hereinafter referred to as "Meals on Wheels". WITNESSETH WHEREAS, Meals on Wheels provides meals to homebound individuals within the community and is properly incorporated in the State of North Carolina for this purpose; and WHEREAS, Meals on Wheels wishes to secure the financial support of the County for a portion of the costs incurred in providing these services; and WHEREAS, the County, in the interest of the welfare of its citizens, desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs incurred by Meals on Wheels in its provision of these services; and WHEREAS, The County has appropriated the sum of $25,650 for this purpose for the period July 1, 1990 through June 30, 1991. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the County and Meals on Wheels do mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: 1. This contract shall begin July 1, 1990 and shall exist and continue through June 30, 1991. 2. Meals on Wheels shall provide its services to individuals who qualify for these services in relation to Meals on Wheels established policies in a manner specified by these policies. These policies are understood to provide for compliance with Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as appropriate, in addition to any other local ordinances, state laws, and federal regulations which may be applicable to Meals on Wheels and its services. 3. The County shall allocate and pay to Meals on Wheels twelve (12) monthly payments of $2137.50 each for a total of $25,650.00 with each payment to be made on or about the last day of each month commencing in July, 1990. 4. Meals on Wheels will undergo an audit of its operations conducted by a Certified Public Accountant and will submit a copy of the report of this audit to the Department of Social Services within ninety 90 days of the conclusion of Meals on Wheels' established fiscal year. 5. Meals on Wheels agrees to hold the County and the Department of Social Services harmless for any and all liability, damages, or claims, including attorney's fees, that might be asserted or suffered by the County or the Department of Social Services as a result of any act or omission of any of Meals on Wheels' officers, employees, agents or representatives arising out of this contract. 6. This contract may be terminated by either party upon thirty (30) days prior to written notice to the other party. WITNESSETH WHEREAS, CVAN provides shelter and other supportive services to victims of domestic violence and is properly incorporated in the State of North Carolina for this purpose; and WHEREAS, CVAN wishes to secure the financial support of the County for a portion of the costs incurred in providing these services; and
