567 We propose to do a feasibility study for the use and exchange of property having to do with the four acre site that the School System has on the North side of Highway 49 at Central Cabarrus High School and the site the county has off of Highway 601 that joins the School Bus Garage property. Enclosed is a drawing, Plan #1, which shows how the School Bus Site might be enlarged by filling the perimeter of the County property to extend the Bus Site. The extent of fill as to depth and length is hypothetical. I propose, on behalf of the School Board, that independent appraisals of both properties be secured and that the amount of difference in values be used to fill as much at the County Site as can be had for the money. We also propose to do a schematic plan for an Ambulance Building. This would be in the form of a drawing which would show the floor plan of the building, location on the site with drives and parking and how future expansion would fit into the plan. We would propose to work on a hourly basis as follows: Principal Architect $55/hr. Architect $50/hr. Draftsman $35/hr. Secretary $15/hr. The total paid for the above services would be deducted from the total Architectural fee if we are retained to follow thru with the full architectural services. /s/ George A. Griffin George A. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin with Commissioners Hamby, Melvin and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for, the Board approved the addition of the following roads to the State road system: Dewitt Court and Twinkle Drive. OTHER BUSINESS Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting until the conclusion of the meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the Water and Sewer District of Cabarrus County. Chairman Lentz reconvened the meeting of the Board of Commissioners. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby with Commissioners Melvin, Hamby, and Moss and Chairman Lentz voting for, the Board approved an additional appropriation of $150.00 from Board Directed Expenses to pay for the rental of tables and chairs for the "Meet the Courts and Law Enforcement Day" held on October 29, 1990. The Board had previously approved an appropriation of $500.00 to provide lunch for the program participants. UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss with Chairman Lentz and Commissioners Moss, Hamby, and Melvin voting for, the Board approved a request by Captain Ron Dohmann of the Salvation Army to use the Courthouse steps on the evening of December 10, 1990 for a Christmas program. Chairman Lentz reported that he had accepted an award on behalf of the County from the Association for Retarded Citizens at an awards banqUet on November 1. The award was in recognition of the BoardVs support of the Association during the past year. Chairman Lentz reported that the lawsuit filed against him by Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, former County Manager, had been dismissed on November 2, 1990. UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss with Chairman Lentz and Commissioners Moss, Hamby, and Melvin voting for, the Board moved to go into executive session to discuss the acquisition of property.
