<br />referred the "Petition for Fire District Election" for the Richfield Misenheimer
<br />Fire District to the Board of Elections for verification of names with the
<br />regulations as set forth in the North Carolina General Statutes to be followed
<br />to permit the fire district election as requested.

<br />Mr. Watson reported that the proposed Section 404 Permit had been received from
<br />the United States Army Corps of Engineers for the Board's review and acceptance.
<br />He stated that the permit was acceptable in all areas, including the special
<br />conditions, and recommended that the Board authorize the Chairman to sign the
<br />permit on behalf of the County. The permit will then be returned to the
<br />Wilmington District Office for final authorization by the Corps. In conclusion,
<br />Mr. Watson noted that the application for the Section 404 Permit had been
<br />submitted to the Corps of Engineers on November 5, 1987.
