Peer Courthouse Tours <br />The Architect will assist in scheduling, and participate in the four (4) courthouse tours to the following <br />North Carolina facilities subject to the approval of the Courts. The facilities are selected based on their <br />relevancy as a recently constructed courthouse of similar function in reasonable proximity to Cabarrus <br />County. Should, during the Programming process, the County wish to tour another facility, orfacilities, <br />in -lieu -of those indicated, the Architect will assist in scheduling, and participate in the alternative <br />facilities. Each party will be responsible for all associated transportation and related expenses. <br />a. Durham County Courthouse, Durham <br />b. Wake County Justice Center, Raleigh <br />c. Chatham County Justice Center, Pittsboro <br />d. Gaston County Judicial Center, Gastonia <br />e. Mecklenburg Government Center, Charlotte <br />f. Union County Government Center, Monroe <br />5. Project Visioning <br />The Architect will conduct an initial and a follow-up Project Visioning Session with the Steering <br />Committee and other representatives as determined by the County to identify, prioritize, and <br />document the overall courthouse project goals and objectives. <br />6. Building Systems Programming <br />The Architect will conduct a Building -wide Programming Session with Area Operations Management, <br />Asset management and other representatives as determined by the County to identify, prioritize, and <br />document the County preferences and specifications for the following. <br />a. HVAC Systems <br />b. Electrical Lighting and Power <br />c. Plumbing and Fire Protection <br />d. Telecommunications <br />e. Interior Finishes <br />f. Doors and Hardware <br />g. Access Control <br />h. Millwork/Casework <br />I. Site Elements <br />7. District and Superior Court Courtroom Programming and Planning <br />The Architect will conduct Courtroom Programming and Planning Sessions with the Courts and other <br />representatives as determined by the County to identify and document the following: <br />a. Current and future projected use and need <br />b. Scheduling and sharing <br />c. Functional requirements <br />d.
