Vacation Leave <br />and Section 7. Sick Leave. <br />Article III. The Pay Plan <br />Section 3. Use of Salary Ranges <br />(c) Merit Increase Administration. Each year, an employee shall receive a performance evaluation and <br />be considered for a merit increase on the anniversary of his or her date in that position. Merit <br />increases are determined by the score received on the evaluation and any program adjustments. An <br />employee must receive a 2.01 rating or greater on the 5.00 point scale to qualify. If an employee <br />qualifies, the department head recommends a merit increase. After administrative review by the <br />Human Resources Director, the increase is added to the employees salary -base salary. <br />An employee that receives a rating of 2.00 or lower will normally require a Performance Improvement <br />Plan (PIP) and an individual competency score of 2 or 1 will also require a PIP to bring his or her <br />performance to position expectations. Department Heads are responsible for reasonable and <br />appropriate action to assist an employee in attaining expected job performance. If an employees <br />performance does not meet expected levels (receives an overall 2.00 or lower or scores a 1 or 2 in an <br />individual competency) a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) is normally required. This award is an annual one-time award in the amount of the employees <br />recommended merit increase.
