(I-7) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees Applications are being accepted for the following County Boards/Committees: • Active Living and Parks Commission - 4 Terms Expiring Soon • Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions • Agricultural Advisory Board - 2 Expired Terms • Animal Protection Advisory Board - 2 Expired Terms • Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position • Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee - 1 Vacant Position (DHS/Designee/Disabled Adults) • Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - 1 Expired Term • Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 4 Vacant Positions (Substance Abuse Professional, Student Under 18 and At -large) • Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment - 1 Vacant Position (Alternate) • Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions • Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions (Clergy and Midland) • Youth Commissioner - 6 Vacant Positions Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to consider participating on a Board or Committee. (L) CLOSED SESSION (L-1) Closed Session - Pending Litigation, Economic Development and Personnel Matters UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss matters related to pending litigation, economic development, and personnel matters as authorized by NCGS 143-318.11(a)(3), (4) and (6). UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of closed session. Return to Open Session UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Michael David Thrift as Tax Administrator for a term commencing immediately through June 30, 2020.
