February 19, 2018 (Regular Meeting) Page 3459 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Rochelle Farewell from the Human <br />Services Advisory Board roster and thanked her for her service. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Andrea Pack to the Human Services <br />Advisory Board to complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2019. <br />(H-2) Appointments (Removals) - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />Juvenile Crime Prevention Council members Hunter Moore "At -large" <br />representative and Tiyahna Garrett "Student under 18" representative have <br />resigned from their positions on the council. It is requested to remove their <br />names from the roster. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Hunter Moore and Tiyahna Garrett <br />from the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council roster and thanked them for their <br />service. <br />(H-3) Appointments - Mental Health Advisor, Board <br />An appointment is needed to fill the vacant positon for the "Mayor/City <br />Council Concord" position and the Department of Human Services position on the <br />Mental Health Advisory Board. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed William Dosch to the Mental Health <br />Advisory Board as the "Mayor/City Council Concord" representative to complete <br />an unexpired term ending December 31, 2019. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Karen Calhoun to the Mental Health <br />Advisory Board as the "Department of Human Services" representative to complete <br />an unexpired term ending December 31. 2018; including an exception to the <br />"residency" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />(H-4) Appointments - Library Board of Trustees <br />To fill the vacancy for a Kannapolis representative on the Library Board <br />of Trustees, Library Director Emery Ortiz and Kannapolis Branch Manager Christie <br />Reale recommend that Mrs. Geraldine Depken be appointed for a term spanning <br />February 19, 2018 - February 18, 2021. Mrs. Depken is an experienced board <br />member, passionate library patron, and active Kannapolis community member. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Geraldine Depken to the Library Board <br />of Trustees as the "Kannapolis" representative for a term ending February 18, <br />2021. <br />(1) REPORTS <br />(I-1) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisona <br />None. <br />(I-2) County Manager - Monthly Building Activity Reports <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report <br />for January 2018, and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review <br />Summary for January 2018 for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No <br />action was required of the Board. <br />(I-3) County Manager - Monthly New Development Report <br />The Board received the monthly new development report for informational <br />purposes. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I-4) Economic Development Corporation - January 2018 Monthly Summary <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of January 2018 as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(I-5) Finance - Monthly Financial Update <br />
