(H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES (H-1) Appointments (Removals) - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee The terms of appointment for Teresa Dakins and Keith Conrade ended February 28, 2018. Both Ms. Eakins and Mr. Conrado do not wish to be considered for another term due to work/family-commitments. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board removed Teresa Dakins and Keith Conrade from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster and thanked them for their service. (H-2) Appointments - Agricultural Advisory Board The terms of appointment on the Agricultural Advisory Board for Tommy Porter and Leslie Cook expired January 31, 2018. Both have served on this board since 2012. An exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for them. A letter of recommendation from the Cooperative Extension Director regarding their reappointments was provided to the Board. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Tommy Porter and Leslie Cook to the Agricultural Advisory Board for three-year terms ending January 31, 2021; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Porter and Ms. Cook. (H-3) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Youth Commission The following appointments are recommended by the Cabarrus County Youth Commission: • Brandon Gillespie - Cox Mill High School • Lance Cagle - Central Cabarrus High School Melia Eaton, Mount Pleasant High School representative, and Amaya Williams, Cox Mill High School representative, have resigned from their positions on the commission. Mackay Burke, Mount Pleasant High School representative, has not been able to meet the attendance policy. It is requested to remove them from the roster. A letter regarding recommendations for appointments and removals to the Youth Commission was provided to the Board. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Brandon Gillespie to the Cabarrus County Youth Commission as a Cox Mill High School representative for a term ending June 30, 2019.
