Morris, Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Terri Lea Hugie <br />Terri Lea Hugie, Clerk to the Board <br />(G-4) County Manager - Mount Pleasant Middle School Sale Offer Review <br />Kyle Bilafer, Area Manager of Operations, announced an upset bid in the <br />amount of $601,326.00 was received this afternoon for the sale of the old Mount <br />Pleasant Middle School site located at 8325 NC -49 in Mount Pleasant. He stated <br />the upset bid process will begin again with a new upset bid advertisement being <br />posted tomorrow. He also responded to questions from the Board. <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS TO HOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br />(H-1) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Animal Protection Advisory <br />Board <br />The terms of appointment for Joseph Plummer and Jacqueline Tucker on the <br />Cabarrus County Animal Protection Advisory Board expired November 30, 2017. Mr. <br />Plummer is not interested in serving another term. Letters of recommendation <br />regarding appointments to the advisory board from the Board Chair were included <br />in the agenda. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Joseph Plummer from the Cabarrus County <br />Animal Protection Advisory Board roster and thanked him for his service. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Jacqueline Tucker to the Cabarrus <br />County Animal Protection Advisory Board for a three-year term ending April 30, <br />2021. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Sydney Carter to the Cabarrus County <br />Animal Protection Advisory Board for a three-year term ending April 30, 2021. <br />(H-2) Board of Commissioners Request for Applications for County <br />Boards/Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards/Committees: <br />• Active Living and Parks Commission - 4 Expired Terms <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 9 Vacant Positions <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 4 Vacant Positions (Substance Abuse <br />Professional, Student Under 18 and At -large) <br />• Mount Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment - 1 Vacant <br />Position (Alternate) <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 2 Vacant Positions (Clergy and Midland) <br />• Youth Commissioner - 7 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I-1) HOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons <br />Commissioner Kiger announced Cabarrus County and the Town of Harrisburg <br />will host a joint land use community forum at Harrisburg Town Hall from 4:30 to <br />7:30 p.m. on April 19th. <br />Commissioner Kiger announced this past Thursday night (April 12, 2018) <br />the Concord City Council passed a resolution commending and congratulating the <br />Cox Mill Chargers on their second straight 3A Championship win and declared <br />April 30, 2018 as Charger Day. <br />(I-2) County Manager - Monthly Building Activity Reports <br />
