During discussion, Mr. Morado and Ms. Thompson <br />responded to questions from the Board. <br />Infrastructure and Asset Management - Historic Courthouse Clock Tower Repairs <br />Kyle Bilafer, Area Manager of Operations, reported on the structural <br />improvements needed to the access area to the Historical Courthouse clock. He <br />stated the improvements will not only add safety, but will also meet code. He <br />advised staff is ready to move forward on the bid process for the repair work <br />in the clock tower. Mr. Bilafer also reviewed the Cabarrus Time Savers <br />Restoration Plan and Outline plan for the clock restoration, and responded to <br />questions from the Board. <br />Infrastructure and Asset Manacement - New Courthouse Proiect Update <br />Kyle Bilafer, Area Manager of Operations, provided and update on the new <br />courthouse project including the programming and design progress, construction <br />manager at risk selection, North Carolina courthouse tours, and a recent meeting <br />with the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts. <br />Martin B. McGee, Superior Court Judge, spoke regarding file storage and <br />additional staffing awarded to Cabarrus County. <br />A discussion ensued. During discussion, Mr. Bilafer, Judge McGee, William <br />G. Hamby, Jr., Chief District Court Judge, and Mike Downs, County Manager, <br />responded to questions from the Board. <br />BOC - NCACC Video Update <br />The Board viewed a video update from The North Carolina Association of <br />County Commissioners (NCACC). <br />Discussion Items for Action at July 17, 2018 Meetinq <br />BOC - Designation of Voting Delegate for NCACC 1110, Annual Conference <br />Mike Downs, County Manager, reported The North Carolina Association of <br />County Commissioners (NCACC) requests each county designate a voting delegate <br />for the NCACC 1111h Annual Conference to be held in Catawba County in August, <br />2018. Commissioner Kiger recommended Chairman Morris as the voting delegate. <br />Following the next agenda item, the Board voted to designate Chairman Morris as <br />the voting delegate. <br />BOC - Resolution Amending the Board of Commissioners' 2018 Meeting Schedule <br />Chairman Morris stated the Cabarrus Summit - 2nd Quarterly Meeting has <br />been scheduled for July 18, 2018 at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center. The <br />Board of Commissioners' 2018 Meeting Schedule will require a resolution <br />reflecting the update. <br />Chairman Morris read the resolution aloud. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board suspended its Rules of Procedure in order to <br />take action on this item due to time constraints. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the resolution. <br />Resolution No. 2018-12 <br />Resolution Amending the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners' <br />
