July 17, 2018 (Regular Meeting) Page 3639 <br />exception to the "service on multiple boards" provision of the Appointment <br />Policy for Ms. Dubois, and Ms. Shuping. <br />The following individuals were appointed to the Early Childhood Task Force <br />Advisory Board for four-year terms ending July 31, 2022: Ann Benfield, Susan <br />King, Lora Lips, Laura Riley, Michelle Stewart, Jacqueline Whitfield, Amanda <br />Wilkerson, Paula Yost, and Blake Kiger; including an exception to the <br />"residency" provision of the Appointment Policy for Ms. Riley; and an exception <br />to the "service on multiple boards" provision of the Appointment Policy for Ms. <br />Benfield. <br />(H-2) Appointments - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />At the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council's (JCPC) June 20th meeting, the <br />Council voted to recommend Etta Downs, Jamica Is Franque and Terry Wise to fill <br />the At -large and Substance Abuse Professional vacancies on the Council. A letter <br />of recommendation in that regard was provided. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Etta Downs to the JCPC as an At -large <br />representative for a two-year term ending September 30, 2020. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Jamica La Franque to the JCPC as an <br />At -large representative for a two-year term ending June 30, 2020. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Terry Wise to the JCPC as a Substance <br />Abuse Professional representative for a two-year term ending June 30, 2020. <br />(H-3) Appointments - Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />Evelyn Miller's initial term on the Nursing Home Community Advisory <br />Committee expired in February. She is interested in continuing to serve on this <br />board. She also serves on the Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee. An <br />exception to the "service on multiple boards" provision of the Appointment <br />Policy will be needed for her. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Evelyn Miller to the Nursing Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for a three-year term ending February 28, 2021; <br />including an exception to the "services on multiple boards" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />(H-4) Appointments (Removals) - Library Board of Trustees <br />Martha Dobson's and Candelaria Leyvas' terms as Mount Pleasant and <br />Kannapolis representatives on the Library Board of Trustees ends on July 31, <br />2018. Neither Mrs. Dobson nor Ms. Leyvas wish to serve another term. It is <br />requested to remove them from the roster. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Martha Dobson and Candelaria Leyvas from <br />the Library Board of Trustees roster and thanked them for their service. <br />(H-5) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />Troy Taylor has resigned from his seat on the Cabarrus County Tourism <br />Authority. <br />The Cabarrus County Tourism Authority Board of Directors has met and is <br />nominating Jay White to fill the unexpired term ending on June 30, 2019. A <br />letter in that regard was provided in the agenda. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Troy Taylor from the Cabarrus County <br />Tourism Authority roster and thanked him for his service. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Jay White (Seat #12) to the Cabarrus <br />County Tourism Authority to complete an unexpired term ending June 30, 2019. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I-2) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons <br />None. <br />
