Description of the program, project, or activity: Provide resources to staff government <br />oversight and management of opioid abatement programs; funding will be used to <br />Hire/re-assign County staff to oversee, manage, and support opioid abatement <br />programs. <br />2. Second strategy authorized <br />a. Name of strategy: Evidence Based Addiction Treatment <br />b. Strategy is included in Exhibit A <br />c. Item letter and/or number in Exhibit A to the MOA: Item 2 <br />d. Amount authorized for this strategy: $559,165 <br />e. Period of time during which expenditure may take place: <br />Start date of July 1, 2024 through end date of June 30, 2029 <br />f. Description of the program, project, or activity: <br />Treating OUD via medication assisted treatment (MAT) is central to addressing the <br />impacts of the opioid crisis. Alongside evidence -based behavioral therapies, MAT is <br />seen by many as the gold standard for treatment. Funding will be utilized for the <br />following: <br />To expand availability of treatment for OUD and any co-occurring <br />SUD/MH conditions, including all forms of Medication -Assisted <br />Treatment (MAT) approved by the US Food and Drug Administration <br />To support mobile intervention, treatment, and recovery services, offered <br />by qualified professionals and service providers, such as peer recovery <br />coaches, for persons with OUD and any co-occurring SUD/MH conditions <br />and for persons who have experienced an opioid overdose. <br />3.
