The Cabarrus Co~mty Board of Equalization met in the office of the Register of Oeeds in the <br /> <br />County Courthouse in Concord, N. C. on March 19, 1951 at 9 A. M. for the purpose of hearing <br />reques~e~ of County Tax Pa~ers w~ dead. red ad,steerers in their tax valuation. <br /> <br />Present were, P. Ernset Stallings, M. Smoot Lyles, L. Bewma~ n Barrier, Homer L. Fink, C. N. F~eld <br />and a. C. Harris. <br /> <br />Mr. C. Lipe ~arrier, and Mrs. George Hahn appeared in person before the board and requested an <br />adjustment downward in the tax va±uation in a farm, owned jointly by uhem, in No. 7 Township, <br />consisting of 115 acres. The board ordered a reduction in the valuation on this farm from $2h9~.00 <br />to $12OO.00. <br /> <br />Also appeared in person Mr. T. E. Noliday to request an adjustment dcm~ward of the property owned <br />in Concord by the Southern Cotton Oil Co. The Board inspected this property and ~ill give their <br /> <br />decision later. <br /> <br />The Board considered a request of Hr. John B. Howren for a reduction of the valuation on a house <br /> <br />at 151 Patton Ave. in Concord, N. C. The board deferred action on thts~request. (No reduction) <br />The board ~ead' a l~tter f~omMisses Adele and Mary Pemberton requesting a reduction in tax <br />valuation on their residence on North Union Stree~ in Concord, N. C. 'ilue Board deferred action <br />on this request until after an inspection of this property could be ma~. <br /> <br />The Board heard a request by Mr. Farreli ~nite to transfer a part of the t~aluation on his:: property <br />on M~__~ket Street ~ Mr. Bill Ritchie because Mr. Ritchie owned part of a wail in the building on <br />this property. The Board deferred action on Mr. ~hites rsquest until an equitable valuation <br />coUld.be de~ermined. (No reduction) <br /> <br />The Board considered a request of Mr. R. J. Hatley, Mt. Pleasant N. C. to transfer the assessmem t <br /> <br />of the valuation of a farm from Caoarrus County to Stanly County. This request was rejected. <br /> <br />The Board requested the tax superviaor to take request from tax payers for adjustment in their <br />property valuations and to present them to the board during the period that the Board of Equalizathon <br />was in session. <br />Being no further business the Board adJorned.~ ~.~.~__ <br /> <br /> <br />
