The Board of Cabarrus County Commissioners met on July 1, 1957 at their regular <br /> <br />meeting at the courthouse at lO:O0 A. M. with the following members present: <br /> Chairman- J. Lee White <br /> <br /> Commissioners_ L.Bowman Barrier, P.Ernest Stallings, M.Smoot Lyles am W.Frank McCray. <br /> <br /> Motion by P.Ernest Stallings~ seconded by W.Frank McCray that the following road <br /> <br />petitions be passed and mailed to the State Highway & Public Works Oept in Albemarle: <br /> No. ll Township- Tzantham St. 500 ft. take over and maintain. <br /> No. l0 Township-Hopewell Church. 2 miles. Construct new road <br /> <br /> Motion by L.Bowman Barrier seconded by M.Smoot Lyles that B.S.Brown Jr., be reappointed <br /> <br />Judge of Juvenile Cou~t for a period of two years. <br /> <br /> Motion by L.Bowman Barrier seconded by M.Smoot Lyles that R.C. Harris be <br />reappointed Tax Supervisor for Cabarrus Gounty for a term of two years. <br /> <br /> Motion by Frank McCray sec nded by L.Bowman Barrier that the O. K. Lunch be awarded <br /> <br />the contract to feed the prisoners. <br /> <br /> Motion by L.Bowman Barrier, Seconded by P.Ernest Stallings that James Clark be granted <br /> <br />free peddlers license on account of being disabled to work. <br /> <br /> Motion by M.Smoot Lyles seconded by L.Bowman Barrier that Frank McCray be made Chairman <br />of the Board of Cabarrus Commissioners. <br /> <br /> W. Guy Isenhouz was app0.intqd Cabarrus County Commissioner to fill the unexpired term <br /> <br />of J. Lee White, who resigned.. <br /> <br /> Motion by L.Bowman Barrier seconded by Frank McCray thatrequest by Royal Oaks Sanitary <br /> <br />District fee be increase to 25 cents on ~t00. tax valua in that district be approved. <br /> <br /> A regular meeting of the Sanitary District Board of the ~oyal Oaks Sanitary District was held <br />inRoom 315 Professional Building, Kannapolis, North Carolina, on June 2d, 1957 at 7:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> Present: George W.Gillon Chairman; C. Harold Graham, member; and I V Phillips Jr., member and <br />Secretary-Treasurer. <br />Absent: None. <br /> <br />George W. Gillon introduced the following resolution which was read: <br />RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THAT REQUESTED TAX RATE TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS <br />'COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />~nereas, the ~oyal' Oaks Sanitary District Ooard has met and, in compliance with North Carolina <br />General Statutes 130-49, has determined the amount of funds necessary to be raised-by tax assessmmt <br />and has determined the number of cents per one hundred dollars property valuation necessary to rais <br />said amount; <br />And whereaslthe Sanitary District Board now desires to certify to the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, the number of cents per one hundred dollars p~operty <br />valuation to be levied as a tax ~or the Royal Oaks Sanitary District; <br />And whereas, the Royal Oaks Sanitary District Board has found that the said Tax rate for the <br />year 1957 should be 25 cents per one hundred dollarslproperty valuation; <br />Now, therefore, be it hereby resolved: <br />Section 1. That the Royal Oaks Sanitary District Board, in compliance with the above mentioned <br />statute, does hereby certify to the ~rd of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North Carolin <br />that for the year 1957 it requests that said Board of County Commissioners introduce in its <br />annual levy the sum of 25 center per one hundred dollars property valuation to be levied against <br />all ta×ablelproperty within the District, said funds to be collected by the County Tax Collector <br /> <br /> <br />
