M. at the Courthouse with the following present: <br /> Chairman: N.F~ank McCray <br /> <br /> Commissioners: L Bowman Barrier, M.Smoot Lyles, P.Ernest Stallings, and W.Guy Isenhour <br /> <br /> Upon Motion of Commissioner P.Ernest Stallings, and seconded by M Smoot the foregoing <br /> resolution be passed: <br /> <br /> At a Special Meeting of theBoard of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North <br /> <br /> Carolina, called by the Chairman of said Board by notice in writing in accordance with the <br /> provisions of General Statutes 1~3-8, held in ts Oouxthouse inConcord, North Carolina at 10:O0 <br /> o'clock A.M. on January 16, 19~8, the following proceedings were had: <br /> <br /> Commissioner W.Guy Isenhoux presented the following resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> Be It-Resolved by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina: <br /> Section One: That a resolution, entitled "Resolution Calling a Special Local Tax Electiol <br /> to Increase a Previously Voted Supplemental Tax Rate for School Purposes in the Concord City <br /> Administratave School-Unit", passed by saidBoard at its regular monthly meeting on Janu~y 6, 1958 <br /> and duly recorded in the minutes of said Board meeting in'ute book 13, pages ~2h to 229, specif: <br /> <br /> reference being hereby made to said recorded resolution, be andthe same is hereby repealed. <br /> Section Two: That this resolution shall take effect upon its passage. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commieeioner P.Ernest Stallings, seconded by Commissioner M. Dec.e_mber~- 75~7,~ .P_re.sent_to this Bo~_ ~d _~ petition a~d?pted and duly.endorsed by,he Graded School <br /> Board of the City of Concord on the 25th day of November, 1957, requesting a special local tax <br /> election, the purpose of whAeh is to determine the will of the ~oters in the Concord City <br /> Administrative °chool Unit as to whether there shall be levied and collected in addition to the <br /> presently levied supplemental tax iate an additional maximum annual tax of twenty cents <br /> (.20) on the one hundred dollars valuation of taxable property, real and personal, in the <br /> Concord City Administrative School Unit to fuxther supplement the current school expense funds <br /> from,State and County allotments and thereby operate schools of a higher standard by fttrthez <br /> supplementing the items of expenditure in the school budget; <br /> <br /> And whereas, the aforesaid Petition was approved by the Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br /> for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, on December 2, 1957 as appears in the minute of <br /> <br /> said Board; <br /> <br /> <br />
