627 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned regular session at the <br /> Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, the usual place of meeting, on May 17, 1961 at 9:30 <br /> A. M. with the following present: <br /> <br /> Chairman: W.Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Commissioners: M Smoot Lyles,W. Guy Isenhour and L Bowman Barrier: <br /> <br /> Absent: P Ernest Stallin§s. <br /> <br /> At 9:30 o'clock A M., the members of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br /> Cabarrus received from the ze§istrar and jud9es of election the returns of the special bond <br /> <br /> election held on May 16, 1961, in the Royal Oaks Sanitary District. After said returns had been <br /> canvassed~ Commissioner W.Ouy Isenhour introduced the followin9 resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> RESOLU~ON RELATING TO THE CANVASSING OF THE RETURI~ <br /> OF THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE ~DYAL OAKS <br /> SANITARY DISTRICT ON MAY 16, 1961 <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The returns of the special bond election held on May 16, 1961, in the <br /> Royal Oaks Sanitary District, Cabarrus County, haii~ngl beean received from ~e proper election <br /> officers and the Board havin9 canvassed the same, the following facts are hereby found and <br /> determined: <br /> <br /> (a) That at a special bond election held in Royal Oaks Sanitary District on May <br /> <br /> 16, 1961, there was submitted to the qualified registered voters of said Royal Oaks Sanitary <br /> District the followin9 proposition: <br /> <br /> Issuin§ not exceedin9 $270,000 General Obligation Sanitary Sewer Bonds for the <br />purpose of providing funds, with other available funds, for the construction and acquisition of <br />additions and extensions to the sanitary .sewer system for the District, includin§ the acquisition <br />and installation of outfall and collecting lines, the construction of pumpin9 stations and force~ <br />mains, and the acquisitiono£ any necessary land and rights of way, as authorized by a bond <br />resolution adopted by the Sanitary District Board of said District on March 30, 1961, and the levy <br />of a tax for the payment thereof. <br /> <br />(b) That the Board believes that said election was conducted in full complance i~ith <br />(c) That the followin9 schedule correctly shows the designation of the jbpltin9 place <br />at which the election was held, the number of voters registered and qualified to vote in the <br />election, a nd the number of votes cas~ for and a§ainst the proposition submitted: <br /> <br /> Pollin9 Place Royal Oaks School <br /> <br /> Voters re§istred and qualified to vote 769 <br /> Votes for proposition submitted 301 <br /> Votes against proposition submitted 8 <br /> <br /> Section 2. At said election a majority of the qualified re§istred voters of the <br /> <br />Royal Oaks Sanitary District who voted at said ~llection voted for the approval of the bond <br /> <br /> A% <br />resolution adjoped by the Sanitary District Board of the oyal Oaks Sanitary District on March <br /> <br />30, 1961, authorizing the issuin~ of not exceedin9 $270,000 General Obligation Sanitary Sewer Bonds <br />of said Sanitary District for the purpose of providin9 funds, with other available funds, for the <br />construction and acquisition of additions and extensions to the sanitary sewer system for the <br />District, including the acquisition and installation of outfall and collectin9 lines, the <br /> <br />construction of pumpin9 stations and force mains, and the acquisition of any necessary land and <br />ri§hts of way, and the levy of a tax for the payment thereof. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
