The Cabarrus County Co~nissioners met at their regular meeting Monday, April 6, 196h at <br />10=00 a.m. in the Courthouse. <br /> <br />Present: Chainaan, C. Frank .James · <br /> Cou~issioners, Oren Hill, l~cNeil Petrea, Frank NcCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Neetin9 called to order by Chairman James. Prayer by Dr. j. I~. Nurchinso~. The cc~mtssioner: <br />dispensed with the reading off the ~lmtes. <br /> <br /> Residents in the area of the Concord City Ikmp were present to hear a public report on what <br />is beir~ done about the d-~. Co=plaint records were submitted by the Health Dept concerning <br />conditions at the dump. A meeting was called with residents of this area, the Nayor and City <br />Alderman £or Saturd~,, April 11, 196h at 9=00 a.m. to discuss further action on this matter. <br /> <br /> Dr. l/orhaan presented a map of garbage routes for the rural garbage collectors. Hill m~de <br />motion, seconded by Petrea to accept this map as the rural garbage territory effective April 6, <br />Vote carried. <br /> <br /> John Surratt of the Nybor Corp. came before Board requesting portions of Pennsylvania Ave. <br />and Iinollwood Drive be closed as stated in their petition submitted Narch 2, l~h. All of this <br />property is bordered by property o~ned by N~bor Corp. Oren Hill made motion, seconded by Pet. rea <br />to close this portion as requested. Vote carried. Resolution attached to minutes. <br /> <br /> Representatives of the Odell c~nity were present and requested an additional 10 ft. be <br />added to their ~ plans. Lyles ~sde motion to grant this request and to give Odell School <br />funds to rebuild their ~ with /hnds not to exceed $8h,0OO. Petrea seconded and vote c~wried. <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Hill to approve the following road petitions: vote carried. <br /> East Side I/wy. ~01 South T-11 Request for Addition <br /> <br /> Nr. Iietchie of Kannapolis Police Dept. and J. B. Roberts of Sherriffts Dept. requested the <br />Sego dialing system be installed to modernize these departments. This system would do away with <br />the lease line now in operation, ~d~ich costs the county $38. per month. The spprc~, cost of the <br /> <br />Sego system is $1800. They were instructed to obtain the exact price for this equipment and <br />report to them later. <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County School Board came before commissioners with Mr. Clime as spokesman. <br /> <br />They wanted to know the division o£ the $6,000,000 for the school bond issue, since the six millio <br />is the maximum amount that can be obtained. They were instructed to try and work this division <br />out among the other two boards. Hill made motion, seconded by IlcCray to extend the courtesy to <br />the Concord City ~ch. Board and the Iiannapolis Board in order to hear their discussion. The <br />meeting to be held with all three Boards, Saturday, April 11, 1~611 at 10~OO a.m. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
