432 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular meeting ~nday, <br /> <br /> ~,~rch 7, 1966, at 10:00 a.m. at the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Minutes of February meetings <br /> <br /> stand approved. <br /> <br /> The nurses of the Health Dept. were present at made several requests for <br /> commissioners to approve for the Health Dept. They are as follows: full time <br /> janitor, new bathrooms, new draperies, furniture for reception room, chairs for <br /> clinic, desks and chairs for officies, stand for coats, stand for drying gloves, <br /> dirt cigeratte ash stand, vacuum cleaner, and shelves for storage space. No <br /> decision reached at this time. Commissioners agreed to consider 'this request. <br /> <br /> W. J. Mabry appeared before Board concerning a 10% penalty imposed on him <br /> <br /> for late tax listing. This was turned over to Attorney Llewellyn to check the <br /> <br /> legal aspects and advise Mr. Mabry of his findings. <br /> <br /> Henry Smith of Poplar Tent Volunteer Fire Dept. requested county to pay ~ <br /> <br /> of their new radio. Approx. cost is $400. Commissioners agreed to this request. <br /> <br /> Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve the following road petitions: <br /> Vote carried. <br /> <br /> T-2 North Drive -Request for Addition <br /> T-4 Knowles St. Request for Surface Treatment <br /> T-8 Ext. off Allmon Rd. -Request for Addition <br /> T-5 Evelyn Drive-- Request for Addition <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by McCray to approve Dr. l.~rkman's recommendation <br /> that E. C. Garlick, D.V.M. be appointed Rabies Control Officer. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea, that on the recommendation of Attorney <br /> <br /> Llewellyn, the matter of Alline Belk Cromer, a recipient of O.A.A. checks, be <br /> turned over to Solicitor Morris for further handling, after consulting with <br /> <br /> C. H. Brown, on three checks that were cashed after her death. <br /> Voted for: Hill, Petrea, James <br /> Voted against: none <br /> <br /> Abstained from voting: McCray, Lyles until after they talk with Mr. Brown. <br /> <br /> Attorney Black requested the county to purchase a breath-o-lizer to be used <br /> <br /> as a test for determining the amount of alcohol contents in a person.
