The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular monthly meeting on September 6, 1966, <br /> <br />at 9~00 A.M. at the Courthouse with the following members present: <br /> Chairman, C. Frank 3~mes <br /> <br /> Commissioners, McNeil Petrea, W. Frank McCray, Oren 3. Hill, <br /> <br /> M. Smoot Lyles. <br /> <br /> Chairman James called the meeting to order. Minutes were read by Arvonia Cochr~n and <br />stand approved. <br /> <br /> Mr. Donald Lisk of Route 1, Midlmnd, N. C., present the Board with a letter he had received <br />concerning a fence he had~'ected on his property across an old road. The Board advised him to <br />take this matter up with County Attorney. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sam Colerider, member of the Zoning and Planning Board, came requesting permission for <br />Mr. Mathey A. Davis, a member of the Division of Community Planning, State Dept. of Conservation <br />and Development, to visit each of the County offices to obtain information relative to community <br />planning. Motion to grant permission by Petrea, second b~ McCrory. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to approve the following road petitions: <br /> <br /> Township 4 - South Baldwin - request for surface treatment <br /> 11 - Woodland Drive - request for surface treatment 4 - Meadow Lane - request for addition <br /> 4 - Knowles Street - request for addition <br /> 4 - Ester Circle - request for addition <br /> 1 - Stallings Road - request for speed limit markers <br /> 4 - Orlmhanage Road - request for improvement <br /> <br /> Residents of Reed Mine Road Township 9 submitted a petition requesting the Board to <br />eliminate a mosquito problem in their area. Petition referred to Health Department. <br /> <br /> Residents of the Rocky River area near Midland submitted a petition to Board requesting <br />an investigation and the eradication of pollution and debris from Rocky River. Petition was <br />referred to Health Department for action. <br /> <br /> The County Accountant presented areport to the Board of the opera~ions of fha Sheriff's <br /> <br />Department automobiles, and received during the previous month of the Countyts share of the <br />State's Intangible Tax in the amount of $255,471.64, resulting in a surplus over the amount <br />budgeted~of $41,471.64. He also reported that it was necessary to have several locks in the <br />jail repaired at an approximate cost of $600 to $700. <br /> <br /> Commissioners approved purchase of an air conditioner for Kannapolis Court Room for $370.00, <br /> <br />provided installation was furnished by Cannon Mills Company. <br /> <br /> A bid for janitorial service for County Home property submitted by Hutots Cleanin§ Service <br />was rejected upon motion by Petrea, seconded by Hill. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
