· ' Tile regular monthly meeting oi' the Cabarrus County Commissioners was held. <br /> <br />at 9:30 A.M. on July ls 196~, with the follomving members present: <br /> <br /> Chairman - C. Frank James i~ <br /> Commissioners -Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr., S. Glenn Hawfields Jri. s <br /> <br /> C. McNeil Petrea and F. J. Beasley, Jr. ~ <br />Chairman James called the meeting to order. Prayer was by the Reverend Herman F. <br />Duncan. Minutes were read and approved. <br /> <br />Attorney Max Elliott appeared before commissioners with a resolution for closing <br />of a road in the County. Resolution was sioned by Chairman Jam~s and was recordedi <br />in the Register of Deeds Office. <br /> <br /> Rankin made motion, seconded by Petrea, to accept the resolution by : <br /> <br />Kannapolis Sanitary District recorded on page ~-~ setting the District Tax <br /> for 196B-69 $100. O0 ' <br />Rate/at forty cents (itOd) per/valuation. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Rankin made motions seconded by Petrea, to accept the resolution for Royal <br /> <br />Oaks Sanitary District recorded on page ~.i~. setting the Dlstrict Tax Rate for <br /> <br /> 1966-69 at COd) fifty cents per $100.00 valuation. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Rankin made motions seconded by Petrea, to accept the resolution for <br /> <br />Park~ood Sanitary District, recorded on page ~.~ , Setting the District Tax <br /> <br />Rate for 196tl-69 at fifteen cents (15d),, per $100.00 valuation. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Ratmkin made motion, seconded by Petrea, to accept mesolution for Rockland <br />Sanitary District recorded on page ~ setting the District Tax Rate for <br />1966-69 at fifty-eight cents (5~d) per $100.OO valuation. Vote carried. ,- <br /> <br /> Attorney Carlyle Rutledge and Mr. Cecil lulcCombs asked~for the board's <br /> <br />approval of abandonment of two streets in Crenshaw Heights in Kannapolis. <br /> <br />Hawfield made motion, seconded by Petrea, for notice on the closing of those streetss <br />to be published in The Concord Tribune and The Daily Independent for four (It) <br />consecutive Mondays. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Representatives of the three school units in Cabarrus County--Kannapolis-- <br /> <br />Concord City--and Cabarrus County, came before the Board concerning study to be <br />made bi' merger of the three school units. The survey is ~stimated to cost <br />between $25,000 and $/~0,000. On motion by Commissioner Rankin, seconded by <br />Hawfield, school officials were given the authority to begin survey.
