554 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />May 7, 1984, at 9:30 A.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz <br /> Commissioners: Archie Y. Barnhardt <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> J. Harold Nash <br /> Kenneth F. Payne <br /> The invocation was given by Reverend W. C. Bankhead of the Rock Hill <br />AME Zion Church of Concord. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner Nash <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the minutes of April 16, 1984, <br />as written. <br /> The Board reviewed the following bids received on May 2, 1984, for <br />a one year contract for supplying food service to the Cabarrus County <br />Jail. <br /> <br />LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT DATE: <br />April 16, 1984 <br /> <br />Vendor Breakfast Lunch Dinner Total <br /> <br />Martin's Drive-In <br />Red Pig Restaurant <br />Alberto's Restaurant <br /> <br />$1.55 $1.70 $1.70 $4.95 <br />$1.35 $1.95 $1.95 $5.25 <br />$1.74 $1.74 $1.99 $5.47 <br /> <br />(Unit Price per meal includes tax and each meal is individually boxed.) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the Jail Food Service Contract <br />to the low bidder, Martin's Drive-In, at a daily charge of $4.95 for 19~84-85. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed the following persons to <br />represent Cabarrus County on the Board of Directors of the Yadkin-Pee Dee <br />River Basin for the coming year. <br /> <br />Honorable Dwight W. Harold Nash <br />Cabarrus County Commissioner <br /> <br />Mr. Laine Harling <br />Concord City Councilman <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Nash <br />and unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for 10:00 A.M. on <br />Monday, June 4, 1984, for the naming of an unnamed road to Beacon Drive. <br /> The Board reviewed the request for the addition of Colony Drive <br />and Windy Rush Road to the state secondary road system. Mr. Thomas B. <br />Robinson, Planning Director, advised the Board that the name "Windy Rush" <br />was similar to two other road names in the county. However, he stated <br />that Windy Rush Road was located in the jurisdiction of the Kannapolis <br />Street Planning Board and.that Board had recommended that the road retain <br />the same name. Mr. Robinson recommended the addition of both streets to <br />the secondary road system. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Nash <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of Colony <br />Drive and Windy Rush Road to the state secondary road system. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the State Water Supply <br />Grant under the Clean Water Bond Act in the amount of $94,000.00 for a <br />project consisting of installing a water distribution system in the Colony I <br />and II, and North Princeton Subdivisions and the surrounding area and <br />authorized Chairman Lentz to sign the Grant Acceptance Form on behalf of <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Payne with <br />Commissioners Nash and Payne and Chairman Lentz voting for and Commissioners <br />Milloway and Barnhardt voting against, the Board approved the following <br />contract amendment authorizing Carter-Goble Associates, Inc., to evaluate <br />the feasibility of developing coordinated agency transportation for <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> <br />
