<br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request
<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To appropriate a private donation of $10,000.00 by Mrs.
<br />Frances C. Cannon to the Kannapolis Library. The donation was received and
<br />deposited on October 6, 2004. The donation will facilitate an architectural
<br />design for an addition of approximately 3,000 square feet to the Kannapolis
<br />Library. The Kannapolis Library Community Room will enhance library programs
<br />and provide space for community meetings and activities. The community and
<br />local school system may host art exhibits, musical performances, and
<br />scholarly presentations.

<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To appropriate the 2004 North Carolina Emergency
<br />Management Performance Grant (EMPG). This grant will provide funds to assist
<br />in the cost of developing and maintaining a comprehensive Emergency
<br />Management Program. A vehicle will be purchased for the Emergency Management
<br />Planner and Homeland Security Officer replacing the 1994 fleet vehicle;
<br />therefore, eliminating the extensive repair costs needed to maintain the
<br />vehicle.
