Also, Betty Garmon has resigned for medical reasons. The Department of Aging Advisory Board has recommended the reappointment of Goldia Cruse and Doris Hagler and the appointment of Mae Block, Ron Harwood and vernie King. In addition, the advisory board has recommended that Roy Casper be appointed to fill the position previously held by Ms. Garmon. UPON MOTXON of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Goldia Cruse and Doris Hagler and appointed Mae Block, Ron Harwood and Vernie King to -the Department of Aging Advisory Board for a term of three years ending December 31, 2007. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Roy Casper to the Department of Aging Advisory Board to complete an un-expired term ending December 31, 2005. (H-3) Region F Aging Advisory Committee The terms of appointment for Elmira Polk and Linda Richards (alternate) ended June 30,2004. Neither wished to be considered for reappointment. UPON MOTION of Commissioner privette, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Anita Helms to the Region F Advisory Committee to complete a term that ends June 30, 2006. (H-4) Parks and Recreation Commission The terms of appointment for Connie Goodman (Townships 1/2/3), Terry Jones (Townships 5/6/7/8) and John Parker (Townships 9/10) end January 31, 2005. Ms. Goodman has served two consecutive .terms and is ineligible for reappointment. Cabarrus County School Board Chair Liz poole has requested that the Board appoint School Board member Holly Blackwelder to her unexpired seat. The Parks and Recreation Commission recommended the appointment of James G. Guess, Jr. (Townships 1/2/3) and the reappointment of Mr. Jones and Mr. Parker. Chairman Carpenter nominated James G. Guess, Jr. for appointment and John Parker for reappointment. UPON MOTION of Commission Privette, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board by acclamation appointed James G. Guess, Jr. (Townships 1/23) and John Parker (Townships 9/10) to the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission for a 3-year term ending January 31, 2008. The following nominations were made for Townships 5/6/7/8: Commissioner Carpenter _ Stanley L. Parnell i Commissioner Freeman - Howard R. Hurlocker; and commissioner Privette - Terry Jones. Howard Hurlocker was appointed as the Township 5/6/7/8 member by the following vote: Voting for Terry Jones - Voting for Stanley Parnell commissioners Freeman and Juba and Vice Chairman Carruth commissioner Privette _ Chairman Carpenter voting for Mr. Hurlocker - UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Chairman Carpenter, and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Holly Blackwelder to the Cabarrus County School Board member position on the Parks and Recreation Commission to ,complete an unexpired term ending January 31, 2006.
