Coborrus County Transportation Services <br />Finol Report — September 2015 <br />• Hispanic Learning Center <br />• Coltrane Life Center <br />• Cooperative Christian Ministry <br />• Daymark Recovery Services <br />• Rowan Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) <br />Following is a summary of the notable discussion topics at the conference concerning COTS <br />services: <br />• Need for more public awareness of CCTS and its services <br />• Lack of public transportation to Mount Pleasant, Midland, and Harrisburg <br />• Need for better coordination between CK Rider, COTS, and CATS <br />• Need for longer hours of service <br />• Need for transportation for shopping for seniors <br />• Need for better coordination with planners regarding land use <br />• Need for better outreach to Latino community <br />• Lack of transportation from rural areas to fixed routes <br />• Late return trips from RCCC <br />• Potential for express route to service heavily traveled corridors <br />• Need to improve readability of brochures <br />The following implementation activities were discussed by CCTS to address the issues <br />raised in the comments: <br />• Continue to work with the Rural Planning Organization (Note: Cabarrus County <br />now encompassed by the Cabarrus -Rowan MPO) to offer input on public <br />transportation needs <br />• Increase efforts to market CCTS at public events, community meetings, business <br />meetings, and church groups; and use the local media to educate citizens on CCTS <br />services <br />• Work with NCDOT PTD on a regionalization study for the area <br />• Meet quarterly with CK Rider to maintain communication and seek better <br />utilization of CK Rider routes and possible CCTS feeder service from outlying areas <br />of the county <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />F -3 Page 83 <br />
