Salisbury Rowan Community Action Agency <br />ROMA Goals 1 and 5 DHHS Excels -Goal 1 <br />Low - income People Become More Self- Sufficient; Agencies Manage resources that provide an elevated level of effective <br />increase their capacity to achieve results and efficient delivery of services and programs to North <br />Carolinians. <br />11. Describe activities that your agency has undertaken or plans to undertake to establish a pool of <br />unrestricted funds to further the agency's mission and reduce dependency on government funding. <br />a. Funds to support services for low- income persons <br />SRCAA, Inc. has faith based organizations and private sources that sometimes donate <br />services and finances throughout the year to help our agency serve the low- income <br />community when CSBG funds are not available. SRCAA seeks additional, appropriate <br />grants to meet the needs of our population beyond CSBG funding. In the past year a <br />corporate partnership has been solidified and we are in conversation with the Community <br />Relations Departments of area banks to begin increasing our unrestricted funds from <br />corporations and foundations. <br />b. Funds to support the overall agency <br />The SRCAA, Inc. Board of Directors lead by its Fundraising Committee will continue with its <br />current fund development strategy. <br />1. Identify and develop a fundraising goal for 2013 -2014 <br />2. Develop and expand the current donor base <br />3. Seek small community development awards from corporations <br />4. Become an option for United Way donations <br />5. Seek United Way funding <br />6. Identify other potential leaders /donors <br />- Corporate sponsors <br />- Foundations <br />- Major gifts <br />- Private corporate and individual donors <br />7. Continue improving our technology and ability to reach more people through <br />fundraising through social media <br />The agency has identified the following as opportunities to expand technology and <br />fundraising: <br />• Sales force, which is a web -based program for non - profits that assist in managing <br />and tracking donors, grants, donations, and recurring gifts. <br />• Actively use Facebook, Twitter or other social media <br />• The SRCAA Website has been upgraded <br />• The goal is to allow for direct donations and to demonstrate the agency's <br />performance through our website. <br />ROMA Goal 2, 4 and 6 DHHS Excels -Goals 1 and 3 <br />Low income People Become More Self- Sufficient; Partnerships Manage resources that provide an elevated level of effective <br />among supporters and providers of services to low- income and efficient delivery of services and programs to North <br />people are achieved; Low - income people, especially vulnerable Carolinians; Offer outreach and services to individuals and <br />populations, achieve their potential by strengthening family and families identified as being at risk of compromised health and <br />other supports stems safet . <br />Fiscal Year 2013 -14 Community Services Block Grant Application <br />Page 13 of 42 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />F -6 Page 77 <br />
