3. Wetlands: Describe any wetland areas on the site including the acreage (see "Resources"
on page 5 for help in identifying wetlands). Describe any disturbance of wetlands needed to
develop the proposed project. Please state if no wetlands exist on the site. Attach a separate
page if needed.
Two jurisdictional wetlands, besides the streams and ponds, were determined to be present on
the property, but were not delineated. Both, collectively, total less than 1/3 acre. Both wetlands
are described in the overall environmental assessment report which is attached. There is no
disturbance of wetlands proposed for this project. As described in the overall report, there is
hydrophytic vegetation present in other wet areas but are without hydric soil development and are
not jurisdictional.
4. Floodplains: Describe any floodplain areas within or adjacent to the site. Please state if
none exist. Attach a separate page if needed.
The floodplain along Muddy Creek and the floodplain of an unnamed tributary of Muddy Creek on
the southeast side of the property are described in further detail in the overall report on page 1 -2.
5. Tree and wildlife species: Describe the predominant tree and wildlife species on the site.
Attach a separate page if needed.
Trees /shrubs, herbs and wildlife species are described in detail forthe various habitats according
to habitat throughout the attached overall report.
6. Archaeological or historical sites: List any known archaeological or historical sites within
the project site or in the vicinity of the site. Has the area been surveyed by an archaeologist? If
so, when and by whom? (See "Resources" on page 5 for help in identifying cultural resources).
Attach a separate page if needed.
We have contacted the North Carolina Office of State Archeology in reference to this project.
Because no federal moneys will be used for this project the State Archeologist declined to make a
formal review of the site. Because of the hydrologic and topographic situation at the site the
probability for intact significant cultural resources is highly unlikely. However, if during the course
of construction or field investigations cultural resources or human remains are accidentally
uncovered we will cease construction activities and immediately notify the North Carolina Office of
State Archeology.
7. Existing Structures: List all existing recreational facilities or other structures on the site.
Indicate if any structure is more than 50 years old. Provide a photograph and pertinent historical
information about the structure(s). Will the structure(s) be demolished or renovated by the
proposed project? Attach a separate page if needed.
There is a pole barn located on site that will be converted into a maintenance facility with an
attached office. The structure is NOT more than 50 years old and holds no historical significance.
m
Attachment number 1
F -3 Page 111
