Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance <br />Chapter 8- Conditional Uses <br />SATELLITE DISH ANTENNAE OR SATELLITE DISH- A parabolic antennae designed to <br />receive electromagnetic transmissions from a satellite. <br />TOWER- Any ground- mounted, pole, spire, structure or combination thereof, including <br />supporting lines, cables, wires, braces and masts, to which a telecommunications antenna <br />is attached or affixed. <br />TOWER, LATTICE- Three- or - four - legged steel girded structures typically supporting <br />multiple communications users and services generally ranging from 60 to 200 feet in <br />height. <br />TOWER, MONOPOLE- Single pole design, approximately three feet in diameter at the base <br />narrowing to approximately one and a half feet at the top, generally ranging from 25 to <br />150 feet in height. <br />WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES (WTS)- Licensed or unlicensed wireless <br />telecommunication services including cellular, digital cellular, personal communication <br />services (PCS), specialized mobile radio (SMR), enhanced specialized mobile radio (ESMR), <br />commercial or private paging services, or similar services marketed or provided to the <br />general public. This definition does not include services for non - commercial entities in the <br />amateur radio service, public safety radio service, or licenses assigned to non - profit <br />organizations such as the Red Cross, Civil Air Patrol, or e the military affiliated radio <br />services that are licensed by the Federal Communications Commission. <br />Section 3 Applicability <br />The provisions of Section 2-& shall apply to any new Wireless Telecommunications <br />Tower or Antenna, except as provided below. The use of land for wireless <br />telecommunication service antenna or tower shall be permitted as set forth in Table <br />3.8 subject to the criteria below. <br />Section 4 General Guidelines and Requirements <br />a. PRINCIPAL OR ACCESSORY USE - Antennas and towers may be considered either <br />principal or accessory uses. A different existing use or an existing structure on the <br />same lot shall not preclude the installation of an antenna or tower on such lot. <br />b. LOT SIZE- In the event that a tower or antenna is installed and /or leased on a <br />portion of a lot, the lot in its entirety will determine any and all district <br />development regulations that the structure may be subjected to; including but not <br />limited to setback, lot coverage, and other such requirements. <br />c. INVENTORY OF EXISTING SITES- Each applicant for an jntenna and /or tower shall <br />provide to the Zoning Administrator w4li an inventory of its existing towers, <br />antennas, or sites approved for towers or antennas, that are within the jurisdiction <br />of Cabarrus County, the City of Kannapolis, the City of Concord, the Town of <br />Harrisburg, the Town of Mt. Pleasant, the City of Locust or the Town of Midland. <br />Sucry information shall include specific information about the location, height, <br />and design of each tower. Each applicant shall also provide a one -year build out <br />plan for all other proposed wireless communications facilities within the Tewn <br />. The Administrator, and /or his or her design& may share such <br />information with other applicants applying for administrative approvals or <br />conditional use permits under this Ordinance or with other organizations seeking to <br />locate towers or antennas within the jurisdiction of this Ordinance provided, <br />Chapter 8 Page 28 of 35 <br />Attachment number 5 <br />G -1 Page 262 <br />
