C <br />J <br />f <br />Tachometer <br />December 2010 <br />Cabarrus Occupancy — October Smith Travel Research <br />October Occupancy in Cabarrus County was 61.2 %, an increase of 10.4% from <br />October 2009. Year to Date (YTD) Occupancy is 3.2% greater than 2009 during the <br />same period. Occupancy in October again was fueled by an increase in demand of <br />19% over October of 2009. Demand for rooms in Cabarrus County remains strong at <br />19.1 % YTD. The State had an Occupancy rate of 61.8% in October as well as an <br />increase in demand of 11.0 %. <br />October Average Daily Rate (ADR) in Cabarrus County was $95.81, down 4.7% from <br />October 2009. YTD ADR is down 3.7 %. The State ADR in October was $84.07, up .4% <br />from last year. State ADR Year to Date is $80.00 down 1.2% <br />October Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) in Cabarrus County was $58.64, up <br />9.8% over October 2009. Cabarrus County Year to Date RevPAR is $46.15 down <br />1.5 %. The State RevPAR in September was $44.16 up 8.8 %. <br />October Race Data was analyzed over the 3 day events held each October over the <br />last 3 years. Room Demand from 2008 -2010 has grown 41 %. Average Occupancy has <br />decreased .03 %. The variation in Occupancy % and Room Demand is related to the <br />increase in room supply in the County. Total room growth since May 2009 is 32 %. <br />Average Daily Rate has decreased 30.8% and Average RevPAR has decreased 32.5 %. <br />1 -2 Page 258 <br />
