9. Meet regularly with Charlotte Regional Partnership and NC Department of <br />Commerce representatives responsible for national and international <br />recruitment. <br />10. Prepare materials for prospect requests for municipal and county officials as <br />needed. <br />11. Make presentations to prospects when they visit Cabarrus County. <br />12. Make joint existing industry calls and coordinate with County and State <br />programs with similar objectives as it relates to Cabarrus County businesses. <br />13. Provide monthly written program updates in a form similar to those found in <br />Appendix A and Appendix B, as well as other appropriate information, to <br />Cabarrus County and municipal staffs and elected officials. <br />14. Participate in events sponsored by the Charlotte Regional Partnership, North <br />Carolina Department of Commerce and other regional economic groups. <br />Expand international trade by participating in foreign trade missions or call <br />trips and educational /informational conferences related to international trade. <br />15. Participation with and support of organizations that are tied to Cabarrus <br />County or our targeted industries and have an economic development <br />presence in the County, such as the North Carolina Motorsports Association. <br />16. Make a presentation to North Carolina Department of Commerce staff at least <br />annually updating and highlighting events and development opportunities in <br />the Cabarrus County. <br />17. Develop and maintain relationships with individual NC Department of <br />Commerce economic development representatives to hear their perspectives <br />and recommendations; discuss projects they are working and how the County <br />may fit their prospects' needs. <br />18. Develop and maintain relationships with other economic development allies <br />such as businesses that are financially contributing to the EDC, the <br />Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Concord Downtown Development <br />Corporation and others who benefit from economic development activities. <br />19. Coordinate with Chamber of Commerce and local education and training <br />institutions in the area of Workforce Development and provide information <br />from local businesses about the supply and quality of available labor and <br />specific needs for improvement. <br />20. Respond to referrals from participating local governments. <br />21. Develop a comprehensive economic development plan that specifically <br />describes the requirements and strategies necessary for achieving the most <br />successful economic development program possible. <br />B. MARKETING AND RECRUITMENT SERVICES - In addition to the above, the <br />EDC will develop and implement an aggressive marketing plan that provides for <br />program analysis and measurement while also making business recruitment trips <br />and other contacts to increase penetration into desired target industries by <br />performing the following. <br />1. Develop and implement a multi -year marketing plan including targeted <br />advertising and supported by the production of high- quality demographic, <br />economic, and promotional material to be used for direct mail, prospect visits, <br />Attachment number 1 <br />G -3 Page 495 <br />
