ci <br />i <br />2.2 DETAILED SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />CESi`s approach to performing this Environmental Site Assessment consisted of four major tasks in <br />accordance with ASTM Standard Practice E 1527-05. <br />Task 1 - A review of reasonably ascertainable public records for the subject site and the immediate <br />vicinity was conducted to identify past and present land use activities, on the site or in the vicinity of the <br />site that may indicate a potential for recognized environmental conditions. The review of the public <br />records included: <br />• Examination of federal, state, tribal and local public records for the subject site and immediate <br />vicinity. <br />• An examination of available aerial photographs, fire insurance maps, tax files, city directories and <br />topographic maps of the subject site and vicinity was conducted for evidence suggesting past <br />uses that might have involved hazardous substances or petroleum products. <br />j Task 2 - A site reconnaissance was performed on the subject site to identify visual signs of past or <br />exisfing contamination on or adjacent to the site. The subject site reconnaissance included the following <br />ff activities: <br />1 • A reconnaissance of the subject site was performed to observe evidence of current and as <br />p t <br />property uses, signs of spills, pits, ponds, lagoons, stressed vegetation, buried waste, <br />1 underground or aboveground storage tanks, subsidence, trans#ormers, monitoring wells, cut/fi(I <br />operations, strong odors, sumps, landfills or unusual soil discoloration which may indicate the <br />possible presence of contaminants on the properties. <br />• The periphery of the property was viewed and awalk-through of accessible areas of the subject <br />site interior was conducted. Adjoining properties were observed from the subject site for <br />evidence of recognized environmenaa!conditions. <br />• Areas of the subject site were photographed to document the current use(s}. of the property as <br />well as environmental conditions or significant features associated with the property. <br />Task 3 -Interviews with present property owners as well as with appropriate local offcials were <br />conducted to ascertain any local knowledge of hazardous substances or petroleum products on the <br />l property or on adjacent properties. <br />Task 4 -The collected data were evaluated and this report was prepared. <br />_~ Our scope of services for the Phase 1 ESA .did not include assessments such as asbestos-containing <br />materials, air quality (including vapor intrusion), lead-based paint, radon testing, lead in drinking water, <br />archeological, historical, or cultural resources, wetlands or endangered and threatened species. <br />Wallace Property Ph 1 ESA <br />CESI PraJect No. 080913.OOD <br />October 14, 2008 <br />Page 5 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />G-9 Page 497 of 627 <br />
