<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />i <br />5. Water Distribution. Local municipalities obtain their water supplies locally, which '~ <br />is then treated and distributed to residents. <br />a. The city of Concord receives raw water from the Lake Don T. Howell and <br />Lake Fisher. <br />b. The city of Kannapolis receives raw water from the Lake Don T. Howell <br />and pumps this into the main water supply at Kannapolis Lake. <br />c. The town of Mt. Pleasant receives raw water from the Black Creek Run <br />' Reservoir <br />' Charlotte. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br />d. The town of Harrisburg purchases water from the cities of Concord and <br />e. The residents of the town of Midland either purchase water from the city of <br />Concord or utilize wells. <br />6. The Concord Regional Airport, a general aviation facility, is located on Aviation <br />Boulevard in the western section of the County. It is immediately west and parallel to I- <br />85. The facility has two runways, one 7400 feet and the other 7000 feet long. There are <br />also several small private airfields in Cabarrus County. <br />7. The County is exposed to many potential hazards, all of which could cause <br />damage, create casualties, and disrupt the community. These potential hazards are <br />characterized as natural, technological, or national security. For Cabarrus County these <br />hazards are: <br />' a.
