Coordinate additional law enforcement support with municipalities <br />within the county, other counties, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol during <br />response operations. If the situation requires National Guard support, request this <br />support through the county Emergency Management Coordinator. <br />e. Provide emergency communications systems (primary and backup) to the <br />county EOC. Upon activation, the communications section will notify all municipalities <br />by radio that the county EOC is open. <br />f. The Sheriff or his designee are part of the Operations Group in the Coun#~~ <br />Emergency Operations Center and will coordinate law enforcement operations from the <br />EOC during emergency srtuat~ons. Additionally, direct the kitchen to prepare meals to <br />support EOC personnel as needed. <br />g. Provide transportation resources for critical emergency personnel and <br />equipment, as necessary. <br />h. Conduct traffic control to facilitate the movement of evacuees to shelters. <br />i. Relocate and house jail prisoners during an evacuation of the Detention <br />Center <br />j. Provide security and protection of the damagedlevacuated areas} and <br />critical facilities. Control access and movement into these areas. <br />k. Provide security for the Emergency Operations Center, County Receiving <br />and Distribution Point, reception centers, shelters, other lodging and feeding facilities <br />during emergency operations. <br />1 In accordance with the Cabarrus County Land Search Directive (April <br />2007), the Sheriffls Department is the lead agency for the activation and coordination of <br />search operations within the unincorporated areas of the county. <br />6. Sheriff's Depar#ment Communications Lieutenant <br />a. Develop procedures for direction of communications and warning systems <br />throughout the County. These procedures must maintain communications between the <br />Emergency Operations Center, field units, shelter facilities, adjacent jurisdictions and <br />State Emergency Operations Center. <br />b. Maintain eunent internal notification/recall rosters. <br />c.
