1 <br />f. Coordinate with the Cabarrus Health Alliance and De artment of Social <br />P <br />Services to establish a system to check on residents with special medical needs during <br />emergency situations. Be prepared to assist with the transport of medical supplies, <br />oxygen, etc. to special needs patients. <br />g. Maintain liaison with American Red Cross (ARC) and other non- <br />government service agencies during emergencies. As needed, be prepared to treat minor <br />casualties arriving at shelters and provide additional medical resources to these shelters. <br />h. Provide medical support and surveillance for emergency workers at <br />incidents involving radiological or hazardous materials. <br />i. Assist the regional medical examiner as needed during a mass fatality <br />incident. <br />j. As needed, request a Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) Team to <br />assist emergency workers and victims in the aftermath of a disaster. <br />k. Report to the County Emergency Operations Center upon activation. The <br />EMS Director is assigned to the Operations Group in EOC. <br />9. Social Services Director <br />a. Coordinate the continuation of social services to county residents during <br />emergency situations. Be prepared to provide emergency benefits within the resources of <br />the Department of Social Services. <br />b. Coordinate with the Cabarrus Health Alliance, Piedmont Behavioral <br />Healthcare, and other government and non-governmental agencies to provide support <br />personnel during emergency situations. <br />c. Develop mutual aid agreements with surrounding counties to support local <br />social services in emergency situations. <br />d. Maintain internal alert/recall rosters. <br />e. Coordinate with medical/health care facilities {e.g. rest homes, group <br />homes, etc.) to insure development of emergency/evacuation procedures. Assist nursing <br />homes with the development of emergency plans. All plans will be coordinated with the <br />County Emergency Management Department. <br />f. Prepare for the operation of special medical needs shelters for county <br />residents. Coordinate with Deparhnent of Aging, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, <br />and other non-government organizations to provide resources and personnel to support <br />special medical needs shelter operations during emergency situations. <br />EOP/BASIC PLAN 1'7 <br />September 2008 <br />F_2 142 of 408 <br />1 <br />~~ <br />
