Task 5.2 - Engineexing Drawings
CDM will prepare the following Engineering Drawings as required under Rule .0539(e):
^ Engineering Plan Sheet 1 will contain the existing conditions including site topography,
features, existing disposal areas, roads and structures.
^ Engineering Pian Sheet 2 will contain the grading plan including proposed Imits of
excavation and subgrade elevations.
^ Engineering Pian Sheet 3 will contain the cap system including base and top elevation,
landfill gas devices, infiltration barrier, surface water removal, protective and vegetative
cover, and details.
^ Engineering Plan Sheet 4 will contain temporary and permanent sedimentation and ~
erosion control measures.
^ Engineering Plan Sheets 5 - 7 wiU contain vertical separation requirrements cross-sections.
^ Engineering Plan Sheet 8 will contain vertical separation requirements in plan view,
existing ground surface and base grades cross-sections.
^ Engineering Plan Sheets 9-12 will contain miscellaneous details.
Task 5.3 -Geotechnical Analysis
CDIVI's geotechnical engineers will review the subsurface information collected under Task 3,
and CDM will perform up to one additional boring to collect geotechnical data #or the
geotechnical analyses to supplement the data collected for the hydrogeological investigation.
CDM will perform geotechnical laboratory tests on selected samples.
The groundwater contours for the subsurface design profile will be obtained from the Design
Hydrogeologic Reports. Geotechnical analyses required for the overall C&D. footprint will be
performed based upon the subsurface design profile and proposed landfill geometry. The
analyses will include global and veneer stability analyses, settlement analyses of the existing
landfill materials and the piggybacked C&D materials, and analyses for the design of the
proposed separation liner system underneath the piggybacked C&D materials. Results of the
analyses and recommendations will be incorporated into the landfill design and presented in a
geotechnical report (included as an appendix to the Engineering Plan). The following subtasks
outline the proposed approach to the geotechnical analyses:
5.3.1 Geotechnical Laboratory Testing - In addition to the testing performed under Task 3, the
following laboratory testing will be conducted on selected samples collected during drilling.
^ Two grain-size analyses (ASTM D422}
^ Five moisture contents (ASTM D2216)
^ Two Atterberg Limits (ASTM D4318)
8 Item# 9 ~'
F-5
Attachment number 1
