CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 2/19/07 Agenda Item # F- I q <br />SUBJECT: <br />Fit Community Grant <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus Co. Parks and Recreation in collaboration with Cabarrus Health Alliance; <br />Concord, Kannapolis, and Harrisburg Parks and Recreation; Town of Mt Pleasant; and <br />Northeast Medical Center wish to apply for a Health and Wellness Trust Fund Grant. The <br />grant will provide funding fora 2-year P/T temporary position in the Parks and Recreation <br />Depart. ($30K each year), for the development of a Wellness Council and active living <br />guide, scheduled physical activity at summer camps, and placement of Trail head <br />informational signs at various Parks throughout the county.
