August 9, 2007
To: Londa Strong
Re: Frank Liske Park Soccer Complex
In attendance: Londa Strong, Randy Daniels, Kyle Bilafer, John Page, Don Strien, Dawn
Simpson, Pat Cannon, and Shane Carew.
Our meeting today was to discuss the turf improvements that have been made to the
complex and the plans to re-open the complex on August 20th. It was agreed that field
#6 would remain closed until September 6 or longer if deemed necessary.
Other scheduling issues were discussed along with the issue of "down time" or rest time
for the fields and the necessary maintenance to maintain quality turf. Kyle and John
presented an annual schedule of maintenance for the complex. This will be discussed
again at our next meeting to coordinate with scheduling the fields.
It was also agreed that we would establish a "common" calendar for the field and
maintenance scheduling that all parties would have access to and share with all of the
partners.
Representatives from FCCA, City of Concord, Cabarrus County Parks, and Cabarrus
County General Services were all in attendance at this meeting. After discussing the turf
issue and the desire to maintain quality turf and a top notch facility it was decided
unanimously to recommend to the partners that the complex be designated as a Youth
Soccer Complex for ages 18 and under. This would eliminate the use of the complex by
adult teams and leagues since more severe damage to the turf occurs from adult play.
Submitted by Randy Daniels
F-s
