SERVICE AGREEMENT <br />FOR <br />SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS <br />IN <br />CABARRUSCOUNTYSCHOOLS <br />THIS SERVICE AGREEMENT ("Agreement") is made effective July 1, 2007, between <br />Cabarrus County Schools ("Schools"), whose mailing address is PO Box 388, Concord, North <br />Carolina 28026-0388, and Cabarrus County, North Carolina, apolitical subdivision of the State <br />of North Carolina (herein known as the "County") whose mailing address is PO Box 707, <br />Concord, North Carolina 28026-0707. <br />PREMISES <br />The parties have a common interest in the placement of School Resource Officers (herein <br />known as "SROs") in Cabarrus County Schools; and, <br />The parties desire to provide for the continued administration of the School Resource Officers <br />Program throughout the County; <br />In consideration of the Premises and other good and valuable consideration, the parties agree to <br />the following terms and conditions: <br />TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br />Administration of the Program. The Program will be administered by the Cabarrus <br />County Sheriffls Department. <br />2. Term. The term of this Agreement is five years beginning July 1, 2007 and ending <br />June 30, 2012. The parties may renew this agreement for an additional five year period <br />beginning July 1, 2012, upon notification in writing by either party to the other by May 1, <br />2012. Terms of any renewal will be agreed upon and entered into by the 15`h day of June <br />2012. <br />Schools Obli atg ions <br />Records. The County will provide the Schools with the support necessary to assist <br />in maintaining records for the Program. <br />Compensation. The Schools will compensate the County for its services by <br />funding each SRO assigned to a County High School for each of the five (5) years of this <br />Agreement at the Allotment Rate established each year for At-Risk Student Services by <br />the N C Department of Public Instruction (Planning Allotment Formulas FY 2007-08 <br />attached). Middle School SROs will be provided to the Schools by the County as an in- <br />kind contribution. The SRO fee for each year will be paid in quarterly instalhnents in <br />1 of 3 <br />Fla <br />
