<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Agenda Item # r-- - I 0 <br /> <br />Meeting Date 2120106 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Request for Building Specifications Modifications (enlargement of gymnasium) for the <br />proposed FurrlBoger Elementary Schools. <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The plans for FurrlBoger Schools' gymnasiums are inadequate in size for community use. <br />The proposed change is to increase the gymnasium playing floor size in length from 66 <br />feet to 80-84 feet. The Odell school is the only sufficiently sized community gymnasium <br />available to the youth league association in the Northwest Cabarrus District. Preliminary <br />estimates range from $75,000 to $125,000 per school. A budget amendment will be <br />brought back to the Board for approval after the actual costs are determined. <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION: (Suggested motion if the Board aPfHDves the agenda item as presented) <br />Agree to proposed modifications and to provide funds for an enlargement of gymnasiums <br />at FurrlBoger Elementary schools.
