<br />Resolution No. XXYXXXX <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />DIRECTING RESOLUTION OF UNCERTAIN BOUNDARY BETWEEN <br />UNION, STANLY, ROWAN, AND CABARRUS COUNTIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, some uncertainty exists or has existed as to the precise location of the <br /> <br />boundary, at certain places, between Iredell, Mecklenburg, Union, Rowan, Stanly, and Cabarrus <br /> <br />Counties; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1994, 1997, and 1999 the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />requested the assistance of the North Carolina Geodetic Survey (NCOS) to survey and help <br /> <br />establish the location of all county lines common with adjacent counties pursuant to GS 153A- <br /> <br />18; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 20,1998 the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners adopted <br /> <br />a resolution finalizing the establishment of the county line common to Cabarrus County and <br /> <br />Iredell County based on data provided to Cabarrus County by the NCGS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 16, 2002 the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />adopted a resolution finalizing the establishment of the county line common to Cabarrus County <br /> <br />and Mecklenburg County based on data provided to Cabarrus County by the NCGS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the amount of time that has passed since the original requests were <br /> <br />made, the NCGS is requiring that Cabarrus County re-request their assistance in establishing the <br /> <br />remaining three (3) lines common to Union, Rowan, and Stanly Counties pursuant to OS 153A- <br /> <br />18; and <br /> <br />F-5 <br /> <br />1 <br />
