<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 7/10/06 <br /> <br />Agenda Item # E- I <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Request from a Resident for a Resolution Calling for a Moratorium on Annexation by All <br />the Municipalities within Cabarrus County into the Proposed City of Odell <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />At the meeting on June 19, Ms. Betty Lipe presented a proposed Resolution to the Board <br />regarding annexations in the proposed City of Odell. There was brief discussion at that <br />time regarding the Board's lack of authority in annexation issues. Also, Chairman Carruth <br />reported that he and Commissioner Freeman would be meeting with the Kannapolis Mayor <br />to discuss a recent annexation by the City of Kannapolis.
