<br />Each employee has an ~pportunity to determine which local, non-profit groups receive <br />annual funding from Ch3. Cabarrus Helping Hearts and Hands manages the Annual <br />Campaign Drive to collett funds for local non-profit charitable organizations. Before the <br />campaign is launched each year, employees are asked to complete a survey to <br />determine which 10 organizations (in addition to the War Chest and United Way) will <br />receive funding that YElar, based on a list of local 501 c 3 charitable organizations. <br />Based on results of tHe employee survey, the top 10 charitable organizations will <br />become choices on the Annual Campaign form. <br /> <br />During the Annual Campaign, employees may select to pledge money to one, all or any <br />combination of charltles!designated on the form. Employees choose to make a one-time <br />contribution or payroll deductions. <br /> <br />Since Ch3 is run by a ~olunteer group of Cabarrus County employees, there are no <br />overhead costs. Therefpre, 100 percent of all funds contributed to the Ch3 Annual <br />Campaign, or any other Ch3-sponsored collection, goes directly to the designated <br />charitable organization located in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Annual CamDalan <br />Each year, employees have the opportunity to make monetary contributions to the <br />Cabarrus Helping Hearts and Hands Annual Fund Drive. Contributions are distributed to <br />the 12 local charities sel~cted by employees. <br /> <br />The Ch3 committee set the 2005 Annual Campaign fundraising goal at $40,000 with <br />100 percent participation. Through the generosity of 461 employees, the funding goal <br />was surpassed. The Annual Campaign received $52,235 In pledges to local charitable <br />organizations. That is a 64 percent increase over dollars pledged for the 2004 annual <br />campaign. <br /> <br />These funds will be di~~ributed biannually in 2006 to the 10 local nonprofit agencies <br />that were selected by .mployees through the preference survey. The agencies are: <br />American Red Cross/Ca~arrus County Chapter, Arc of Cabarrus County, Coltrane L.I.F.E. <br />Center, Cabarrus Meal~ on Wheels, Community Free Clinic, Cooperative Christian <br />Ministry, CVAN Battere~ Women's Programs, Habitat for Humanity/Cabarrus County <br />Chapter, Hospice of Cabarrus County, and the Salvation Army. Employees also <br />contributed to the Uni*d Way and a Ch3-managed emergency fund called the "War <br />Chest". . <br /> <br /> <br />. Cell phones contihually collected for CVAN clients <br />. Used eyeglasses !:ollected for Lions Club project <br />. Canned Food Drive collected 483 food items for the DSS pantry In February <br />.
