If he have the concrete readily available when he need it he can <br />pour the concrete when he need it. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore said to Mr. Misenheimer he does not think that any of us have any <br />concern with the plant itself or what he intends to do. He will be doing a service <br />to the community. The problem is the location. First off being at Midland's front <br />door as far as the Midland's use plan. Then, being in a residential area. <br />Whereas we do have zoning portions of the county that this would fit in <br />perfectly. <br /> <br />Mr. Misenheimer said he does not own that land and when you go to talk to <br />these people it is not available at a price he can afford. He said this is a dream <br />he have and he thinks his plan can work for the good of everybody. Mr. <br />Misenheimer said he wants to build something a little more upscale. He said he <br />guess it is a challenge. When you come to a point in your life you need to feel <br />as if you have done something worth while. He said he wants to do something <br />worth while. Mr. Misenheimer said he does not anticipate causing these people <br />any hardship. <br /> <br />The Chair opened the Public Hearing on Petition C05-02(R-CU). <br /> <br />Mr. Butch Loflin addressed the board stating a plant identical to this one in 2003 <br />won the environmental air quality award over the State of North Carolina. He <br />said this one is identical to it. They are next door to an elementary school, <br />which is about 1,000 feet away from the schools playground. Mr. Loflin said the <br />plan Mr. Misenheimer is projecting to use here would be just a couple of truck <br />operations. He said if the road issue is a problem he is sure Mr. Misenheimer <br />can widen the intersection to make it suitable for whatever type of equipment is <br />needed to get to the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Terry Harris addressed the board stating he has been an acquainted with Mr. <br />Misenheimer for over 30 years. From the business venture that he has seen him <br />do he has done excellent work. He said as far as Highway 24/27 is concerned <br />you are going to have tractor trailer traffic. Mr. Harris said he thinks this <br />business venture will be one to benefit the community in a very beneficial way as <br />far as employment. He said as far as what Mr. Misenheimer's proposals are he <br />think it would be very favorable to the county to grant this petition. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Thompson addressed the board stating he understood that there might <br />be a couple of oppositions as far as environmental concerns to the concrete <br /> <br />G-5 <br /> <br />
