<br />Article II: MEMBERSHIP. <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />Section 5. <br /> <br />Members shall be appointed by the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners for a two year term. Appointment shall be arranged <br />so that approximately one-halfofthe tenus shall expire each year. <br />County Commission may re-appoint members. <br /> <br />The chairperson shall advise the Board of Commissioners of <br />members who should be replaced because ofresignation, limited <br />interest and participation, or conflict of interest. <br /> <br />The membership shall be no less than 12 persons and no more than <br />26 and should include, if possible: <br /> <br />1) Local School Superintendent or Designee <br />2) Chief of Police or Designee <br />3) Local Sheriff <br />4) DistrictAttorney or Designee <br />5) Chief Court Counselor or Designee <br />6) Director of Mental Health or Designee <br />7) Director of Social Services or Designee <br />8) County Manager or Designee . <br />9) Substance Abuse Professional <br />10) Member of Faith Community <br />11) County Commissioner <br />12) Two Youth 18 or Under <br />13) Juvenile Defense Attorney <br />14) Chief District Court Judge or Designee Judge <br />15) Member of Business Community <br />16) Health Director or Designee <br />17) United Way or non-profit <br />18) Parks and Recreation Representative <br />19) Up to 7 Additional Members to be appointed by the County <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br />The JCPC regional Consultant and all Program Directors will <br />serve as ex-officio members of the commission. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Any member who fails to attend at least 75% of the regular <br />meetings, except for excused illness or other extraordinary <br />circurnstances, of the Council during any onc-year period shall be <br />removed from said Council by a majority vote. Vaca.Rcies <br />resulting from a member's failure to attend the required number of <br />meetings shall be filled as provided herein. The Chairman of the <br />Council will notify the proper appointing authority if a member is <br /> <br />./;-4 <br />
