<br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br /> <br />Meeting Date 9/19/05 <br /> <br />Agenda Item # E-;p <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br />Resolution Establishing Statement of Purpose to Address Health, Education and Human <br />Service Issues Facing Cabarrus County <br /> <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br /> <br />At the recent planning retreat, the Board heard presentations regarding health, education <br />and human service challenges that cut across service functions and populations in <br />Cabarrus County. At the conclusion of the retreat, the Board adopted a draft statement of <br />purpose to bring together local governments, service providers and community institutions <br />to develop a long-term community initiative to address those issues and challenges.
