Petition for rezoning by non-owner. <br /> <br />When a petition to rezone is initiated by someone other than the property <br />owner or his agent, the Board of Commissioners, the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission or Planning Staff, the petition cannot be accepted without a notarized <br />statement from the owner(s) of the property in question assenting to the rezoning <br />request. <br /> <br />Section 13-7. Three options for rezoning property (Atlas Amendment) in <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Property in Cabarrus County may have its zoning classification changed by <br />requesting: 1) a rezoning to a general zoning district, 2) a rezoning to a special use <br />zoning district or 3) a rezoning to a conditional district. Each is described below. <br /> <br />OPTION One: Rezoning to another general zoning district. <br /> <br />A petitioner may ask that his/her property be rezoned to any of the general <br />zoning districts set forth in Chapter Three of this Ordinance. To initiate the process, <br />the petitioner must file a Rezoning Application as provided by the Cabarrus County <br />Department of Commerce, with the appropriate fee as established by the County <br />Board of Commissioners. The time frame for the processing of the application is set <br />forth in Section 13-12 below. <br /> <br />OPTION Two: Rezoning to the Special Use Zoning District. <br /> <br />A petitioner may ask that his/her property be rezoned to a special use <br />zoning district built upon those existing general zoning districts set forth by this <br />Ordinance. To initiate the process, the petitioner must file a Rezoning Application <br />as provided by the Cabarrus County Department of Commerce. The time frame for <br />the processing of the application with the appropriate fee and development plan is <br />set forth in Section 13-12. <br />Option Three: Rezoning to a Conditional Zoning District <br /> <br />3 <br />j-)- 'J.Jd) <br />
