Co <br /> <br />Do <br /> <br />The Property Committee of the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />and the department staff will review all applications and make <br />recommendations to the full Commission for funding. This committee will meet <br />after the group presentations. <br /> <br />At the September 18, 2003 meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission will <br />prioritize the Incentive Grant projects that will be recommended for approval to <br />the Board of County Commissioners. All projects, including those not <br />recommended for funding, (if any) will be presented to the Board of County <br />Commissioners for their consideration as well. <br /> <br />Upon approval of the projects by the Board of Commissioners, the Parks and <br />Recreation Department will provide wdtten confirmation of the grant to the <br />sponsor, indicating the amount of the award, instructions, conditions, etc. <br /> <br />EVALUATION CRITERIA: <br /> <br /> o <br /> <br />7. <br />8. <br />9. <br /> <br />10. <br />11. <br /> <br />All projects will be reviewed by the staff and Parks and Recreation Commission <br />and rated according to the following criteria: <br /> <br />Matching Incentive Grants "Project Priority Scoring System" <br />In order by pdodty: <br />a) Provides new active recreational sports facilities <br /> (baseballlsoftballlsoccerlfootball athletic fields, tennis/basketball courts) <br />b) Provides new passive opportunities (picnicking, trails, playgrounds, bike <br /> paths, gardens, etc.) <br />c) Provides support facilities for active recreational sports <br /> facilities (restrooms/concessions/water facilities/dugouts/press <br /> buildings) <br />d) Provides support facilities (parking lots, roadways, walkways, <br /> landscaping, etc.) <br />What will be the maintenance requirements of the project?. <br />Has an organization committed to maintenance? <br />Is the need immediate? Can the immediacy be documented? <br />How much citizen and community support has been demonstrated for the <br />project? Is the community involved in the effort? <br />Does the project have the support of affected community groups and <br />individuals? <br />What other facilities of a similar nature are located nearby?. <br />Is the location good for this type of facility? <br />How many people will the facility serve? <br />Is the project an improvement to an existing facility or a new facility? (new <br />facilities receive higher priority) <br />Does the project ovedap or duplicate existing facilities -- public or pdvate? <br />What will be the cost to program the facility when completed? <br />(Staff, materials & supplies, equipment, etc.) <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
