COUNTY GOVERNMENT WEEK <br />THIRD GRADE ESSAY CONTEST <br /> <br />In recognition of County Government Week, April 18-24, all third grade students in <br />Cabarrus County are invited to participate in an essay contest to highlight the special <br />features of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Students are asked to continue this thought: <br /> <br />"I like living in Cabarrus County, because ..." <br /> <br />(Potential topics may include, but are not limited to, geography, people, parks and <br />recreation, or public facilities, such as schools or libraries.) <br /> <br />~NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />Send Essays to: <br /> <br />Essay Contest <br />c/o Public Information Office <br />Cabarrus County <br />PO Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Phone: 704-920-2336 <br />www.cabarruscounty.us <br /> <br /> Contest Rules: <br /> <br /> 1. Open to any third grade student enrolled in a Cabarrus County public, <br /> private, or home school. <br /> <br />2. Essays must be one-page length (approximately 250 words), and may <br /> either be printed or typed. <br /> <br />3. Each essay must have a title. <br /> <br />4. Student's name, school, and teacher's name must be written in pencil <br /> on the back lower side and not visible from the front page. <br /> <br />5. Ail essays must be received by Friday, April 2. <br /> <br />6. Essays will not be returned and become the property of Cabarrus <br /> County. <br /> <br />7. County-wide winner will receive a plaque and T-shirt at an awards <br /> ceremony to be held April 22 at 7 p.m. at Carolina Mall. <br /> <br /> <br />
