Open to any eighth grade student enrolled in a Cabarrus County <br /> public, private, or home school. <br />2. Essays must be at least 500 words and no more t}tah 650 words long. <br /> Essays must be typed and double-spaced using 12-point, Times New <br /> Roman or Ariel font. <br />3. Each essay must have a title, which should be located at the top of the <br /> first page. Do not use a cover page. <br />4. Essay should be stapled at the top, left-hand corner. Do not use report <br /> covers or binders. <br />5. Student's name, school, and teacher's name must be written in pencil <br /> in the lower corner on the back of the last page and not visible from the <br /> front page. <br />6. All essays must be received by Friday, April 2. <br />7. Essays will not be returned and become the property of Cabarrus <br /> County. <br />8. County-wide winner will receive a plaque and T-shirt at an awards <br /> ceremony to be held April 22 at 7 p.m. at Carolina Mall. <br /> <br /> <br />
