NORTH CAROLINA <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />CITY OF CONCORD <br /> <br />DRAFT SUBJECT TO FURTHER REFIEW & NEGOTIATIONS <br /> <br /> INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br /> REGRADING CONVENTION CENTER <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this the __ day of ,2003, <br /> <br />by and between the City of Concord, a municipal corporation organized and existing pursuant to <br />the laws of the State of North Carolina, and hereinafter referred to as the CITY, Cabarrus County, <br />a political subdivision of the State of North Carolina established and operating pursuant to the <br />lavTs of the State of North Carolina, and hereinafter referred to as the COUNTY, and the <br />Cabarrus Tourism Authority, an authority duly organized and operating pursuant to the laws of <br />the State of North Carolina, and hereinafter referred to as the AUTHORITY; <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY, pursuant to the prowslons of North Carolina General Statute <br />160A-489, and the COUNTY, pursuant to the provisions of North Carolina General Statute <br />153A-445(a)(7), are authorized to establish and support a convention center; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the aforementioned authority and the provisions of North <br />Carolina General Statute 158-7.1, the CITY and COUNTY are authorized to engage in marketing <br />and promotion efforts relating to the convention center and travel and tourism; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 658 of the 1989 Session Laws and subsequent <br />amendments, the AUTHORITY is authorized to develop or promote tourism, tourist-related <br />support services and facilities, tourist-related events, tourist-related activities, or tourist <br />attractions; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Part 1 of Article 20 of Chapter 160A of the North Carolina General Statutes <br /> <br />\counc~1-248224 p 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
