MTS Responsibilities: <br /> <br />This program design in~rcases the transportation options for the res!dents of the Mecklenburg County <br />Region and other counties that require medical transportation services, to specialized centers, at reduced <br />cost, throughout the state. In order to meet partnership goals, MTS will use a multitude of Service Modes <br />and Providers, Us/rig a variety of Vehicle types. This will enable the selection of the most appropriate <br />provider and mode to meet individual needs and cost effectiveness. <br /> <br />1. Assign trips according to the lowest cost, most appropriate mode available. <br />2. Resolve Customer complaints <br />3. Act as halson with the appropriate governmental departments and agencies in administering the.out of <br /> County Medical program effort. <br />4. Pay providers timely <br />5. Bill Transportation Providers Timely <br />6. Ensure quality and performance standards are met <br />7. Create oppormulfies for productivity improvements <br />8. Provide re. ports and prepare invoices as required by local, state and federal agencies <br />9. Verify trips on a random basis <br />10. Work Towards universal rate and muff-county billing change <br /> <br />l~rovider Responsibilities: <br /> <br />Providers Be expected to be responsive to the needs of the riders assigned under this MOU in safe <br />courteous and timely manner. MTS also expects provide[s to treat every aspect of the transport <br />confidential, including origin and destination address in/0rmafion pertaining to a rider's physical or mental <br />abilities or financial statms. <br /> <br />Safety: <br /> <br />Providers must comply with all state and federal transportation safety requirements and standards regarding <br />passenger COmfort during transport. This will -include but not be limited to availabihty of proper <br />equipment, vehicle accessibility proper maintenance 0finterior heating and cooling systems, use of seat <br />belts and the use of secure equipment. <br /> <br />Insurance: <br /> <br />Before commencing to provide the service under the terms of the MOU, the provider shall dehver to MTS a <br />certificate(s) or policy(les) as required. <br /> <br />Providers shall furrfish certificates of insurance to MTS contacting the language for named Additional <br />Insured and insurance limits as presented in ATTACHMENT A. <br /> <br />If at any time during the term of the MOU the provider fails to maintain the required/nsurance in full force <br />and effect, provider shall, immediately cease work and shall not iesume such work until authorized by the <br />MTS to do so. MTS will not authorize resumption of service until having received proper notice that the <br />requ/red insurance has been restored to full force and effect. <br /> <br /> <br />
